What Our Users Say

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Halal Scanner uses OCR to read label text, then evaluates each ingredient against a deterministic halal database and rule set. If an ingredient is not in the database or cannot be matched confidently, it falls back to Unknown rather than guessing. We still recommend consulting a qualified Islamic scholar for definitive rulings in complex cases.

Currently, Halal Scanner supports English, Arabic, French, German, Turkish, and Indonesian. We're continuously working to add more languages to serve our global community better.

For ingredients classified as mashbooh (doubtful), we provide detailed explanations about why they might be questionable. We also indicate when further research or consultation with a scholar might be needed.

For guest users, scan results are only stored temporarily in your browser and are not saved to our servers. If you create an account, you can choose to save your scan history. We never share your personal data with third parties.
